Snack, Lunch & Breakfast
Breakfast & Lunch are served daily to all students at Salem Hills. It is expected that the parent communicate with their child and the teacher whether the child should be going to breakfast each morning. Please keep in mind, students are expected to stop at the cafeteria to eat breakfast, then come to the classroom after eating.
Each morning, children will have the option of choosing a home lunch (a lunch packed at home), the entree choice (generally the hot item), a sandwich (varieties vary each day) or a salad option each day. We encourage each family to fill out the Free or Reduced Lunch application. All children will type in their lunch number to deduct from their account. Children receiving free lunch will maintain a $0.00 balance.
First graders are also offered "milk-break" daily. In order for you child to choose a milk, the parent will need to pay separately for the milk option. You will be given the option of paying for 1/2 the year or the whole year in a lump sum. During the milk-break students are invited to bring their own healthy snack and/or beverage. Children who continue to bring unhealthy choices will be asked to take the snack home without an alternative option.

Celebrations/Birthdays:
We will continue to acknowledge birthdays in our classroom, but encourage families to donate an age-appropriate game to share as an alternative to birthday treats.
